For our South African clients, deposits can be paid into our Standard Bank account.

What is the difference between editing and proofreading?
There are some variations in the understanding of what each of these terms means. We choose to use the following definitions.
Proofreading is generally the last step before the publication or submission of a document to ensure that there are no outstanding errors that may have been missed. It typically takes place after a document has been through a more thorough editing process or if a document only requires minor attention.
Editing focuses on a wider set of criteria aimed at improving the writing overall. It offers a more in-depth approach to merely identifying the stand-out issues. Grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and overall flow and clarity are addressed as well as the formatting.
Copywriting is often confused when addressing this distinction and can best be described as creating written content often for the purposes of marketing or specific criteria as laid out by a client.
What referencing and writing styles do you work with?
We work with commonly used styles, including APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, and Oxford. We can edit according to your preferred language convention, including British (UK) or American (US) English. If you do not see your preferred style or convention listed, please get in touch with us to confirm whether we can assist you.
What information do you need to develop a quotation for proofreading or editing projects?
When preparing a fair quotation, we generally request a sample of the document you would like edited or proofread in an effort to determine what level of editing or proofreading it requires. In addition to a sample, the following information can help with the preparation of a quotation:
• The approximate total number of pages and words (including any appendices if necessary)
• The deadline (the turnaround time for the edit, including the date we would receive the final draft of the project and the date you would need to receive the final edited document back)
• The language convention expected (UK or US English)
• The referencing style for the document (with examples or course guidelines if applicable)
• Whether you would like your references formatted and cross-checked
